On average, five people are medically discharged from the Armed Forces every day. Starting a new life after a military career can be really tough. Overnight, people lose not only a job, but a way of life, somewhere to live, and a support network that’s like family.
Help for Heroes supports members of the Armed Forces community to live well after service.
With your help, we can support them in managing their physical and mental health, and their welfare and social needs.
Next PLC will donate 100% of the profits from the sale of these items to Help for Heroes. Click here to buy!

This Mental Health Awareness Week, celebrate the connection between people and nature, and the role green spaces play in our everyday lives. From improving mental wellbeing to bringing communities closer together and engaging the next generation of conservationists. Trees are the planet's superheroes.
Through our partnership, we're helping the Woodland Trust to ensure that everybody, everywhere, can enjoy the incredible benefits of trees. Whether it's through free tree packs for schools and community groups, or restoring ancient woods for future generations, together we can make a difference.

Nestled in the heart of Mamunagama, a vibrant community in the Puttalam District, Thakshila Primary School stands as a beacon of hope and dedication for the 79 students and 7 teachers who call it their academic home. The school, deeply rooted in the area's diverse demographics and rich cultural heritage, has faced its fair share of challenges, particularly in terms of infrastructure. Despite these hurdles, the school has continued to excel academically, with students consistently demonstrating resilience and exceptional performance during examinations.
The employees at our NML outstation plant in Anamaduwa brought this issue to our attention. To help support the students and their community NML have provided funds for the installation of a proper water distribution system, ensuring access to clean and safe water.
A library will also be built to improve literacy and provide students with the opportunity to explore a wide variety of subjects.
These planned improvements show NML's commitment to providing better educational opportunities for the children of Mamunagama. The inauguration of the project, supported by the Gammadha team, was held on 14th March 2025. The water distribution system and library construction, is set to be completed within 45 to 50 days.
With these changes, Thakshila Primary School will be better equipped to nurture its students’ academic potential and create a healthier, more supportive environment for both students and teachers. The resilience and passion of the students and teachers at Thakshila Primary School continue to inspire us. We are proud to be part of their journey, and remain committed to supporting their growth and success going forward.
