We love fashion and that includes all things secondhand. From our monthly collections where colleagues are able to bring their pre-loved items into work. OXFAM collect and then distribute the items so that the things we no longer have use for can have a new lease of life. We started with clothing and decided to take on Second Hand September by sharing our love of books. Along with our Sports & Social Book Club we gathered in colleague donations, many of which were wrapped by our lovely Livvii. We'd taken inspiration from our Joules Head Office who had previously hosted a 'Mystery Book Club'. Books were wrapped with just a few clues available giving us all the opportunity to perhaps select a different genre!
We did our best to make the event as sustainable as possible by using pallets on which our deliveries arrive to make book shelves. And the paper used to wrap the books is the stuffing that we use to protect the stock we send out as raffle prizes for fundraising. We're so grateful to all who came along to our book sale. We together raised £444.00!
A huge thank you for this, what a talented team you are it’s so impressive – I love it! We also received the additional books yesterday at our Batley warehouse (your generosity meant we weren't able to wrap them all) and we estimate this will raise an additional £450 so thank you. Therefore, in total you have help Oxfam raise an incredible £894.00 through book sales for Second Hand September. THANK YOU!!!
We're grateful for all the support in hosting this event that enables us to raise much needed funds for OXFAM. Thanks to all those that took part by donating, browsing or buying. If you didn't make it this time look our for the Mystery Book Club Sale 2026
